As I reflect on the past decade, the first thing that comes to mind is gratitude.

How It All Began

When we started CancerAware a little over ten years ago, it was with a simple but powerful belief, that no woman should die from a cancer that can be prevented or treated if found early.

What began as a small initiative has grown into an international movement for awareness, prevention, early detection and access to care.

A Decade of Impact

In these ten years, we have reached over 20,000 women with our free cancer prevention and early detection services including mammograms, breast ultrasounds and Pap smears, supported 1840 women with free cancer treatment and reached over 20,000,000 globally with our digital media campaigns.

The journey has not always been easy but it has been worth it. Each year has taught us something new about courage, compassion and the power of community. And even as we commemorate how far we have come, we know there is still much to do.

Looking Ahead

Across the world, progress is being made in the fight against cancer, from groundbreaking research to the promise of new cancer vaccines and therapies. We are moving closer to a future where cancer no longer takes the lives it does today.

Until that day comes and I believe it will, sooner than we think, we will keep showing up, keep educating, keep screening and keep supporting treatment.
