Every year, on 31 May, The World Health Organisation and its partners mark World No Tobacco Day, highlighting the health and additional risks associated with tobacco use, and advocating for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption.
The theme for World No Tobacco Day 2017 is "Tobacco – a threat to development."
Did you know?
Tobacco smoking is linked to at least 16 different types of cancer including lung cancer.
Also, non-smokers who inhale tobacco smoke may increase their risk of lung cancer and heart disease.
If you smoke, commit to quit. If you are a non-smoker, avoid second hand smoke.
