'Millions' abandoning cancer treatment in sub-Saharan Africa


Treatment abandonment is a major reason for sub-Saharan Africa’s growing cancer death rates.


CancerAware's Executive Director, Tolulope Falowo says Governments in the region must step up cancer prevention, awareness, treatment programmes and policies.


She spoke to Michael Kaloki of SciDev.net's sub- Saharan Africa desk in this interview to find out why some patients give up on their treatment and what is being done to encourage them to go through with it.
