Today, May 8, marks World Ovarian Cancer Day with the powerful theme: No Woman Left Behind.
But unless we act decisively, millions will be.
🔹 By 2050, more than 8 million women will lose their lives to ovarian cancer.
🔹 The incidence of the disease is projected to rise by 55%.
🔹 Mortality will increase by nearly 70%.
🔹 In 2023 alone, ovarian cancer caused $70 billion in economic losses across 11 countries—90% due to premature deaths.
This is a crisis we cannot ignore.
SYMPTOMS of ovarian cancer are often subtle but critical to recognize:
Persistent bloating
Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
Pelvic or abdominal pain
Frequent or urgent urination
Too many women attribute these signs to everyday stress or hormonal changes. But early detection saves lives.
Our Call to Action:
Women, if you notice any of these symptoms persisting for more than a few weeks, seek medical help.
And when planning your annual health checks, request an abdominal pelvic ultrasound scan—it could make all the difference.
Let’s raise awareness, drive action and ensure No Woman Is Left Behind.
